Description: Social Networking for the Classroom: Blending the classroom with Edmodo or Wikis - Edmodo is a free social learning network for teachers, students, schools and districts that can provide an engaging plat-form for blended learning and a safe social networking environment for your class, school or district. Join us for this hands on workshop to explore this easy to use tool and learn how to Connect, Exchange ideas, Share content and distribute homework and conduct basic formative assessments using polls and quizzes. We will be preparing a variety of content to post to Edmodo, so bring some curricular resources to adapt. A wiki is a web site that lets any visitor become a participant: you can create or edit the actual site contents without any special technical knowledge or tools. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection. A wiki is continuously "under revision." It is a living collaboration whose purpose is the sharing of the creative process and product by many. One famous example is Wiki-pedia, an online encyclopedia with no "authors" but millions of contributors and editors. The word "wiki" comes from Hawaiian language, meaning "quick" or "fast."

KID'S SUMMER BIBLE FUN is an annual children's program at The Vineyard Church in Hopkinton, and will be held the week of August 13-17 for preschool through 5th grade children.
Come join us for our annual week of Summer Bible Fun. We will be running 2 programs: (1) Preschool/Kindergarten (2) Elementary (going into 1-5th grade as of fall 2012). The program will run 9am-12pm. Both programs will have children in different crews.
Our program this year is called "Sky" with the theme Everything is possible with God (Mark 10:27). The program includes teaching, crafts, music, games and snacks.

A team-based running adventure through the roads of Hopkinton, Massachusetts -- starting point of the Boston Marathon. The 26.2 mile course will traverse some of the town's most notable running spots, from the Marathon starting line to the beautiful and scenic Hopkinton State Park, to the town's bucolic roads and trails. The event is designed to accommodate athletes of all levels, with options available for individual runners to cover as few as 3.5 miles or as many as 13.1 miles.

Description: Participants will learn how to use specific apps on the IPAD to customize and teach curriculum based vocabulary, reading, spelling, social stories, and math.
Goals/Objectives: Participants will learn how to use explore and use Story Kit, Puppet Pals, StoryPatch to teach story retell. Participants will use Spellasourus and other spelling apps to load a years worth of spelling curriculum. Participants will explore and use various apps to teach social stories. Participants will use custom boards, futaba, flash cards and other apps to create vocabulary enrichment activities to support units in specific areas such as social studies and science. Participants will explore math apps to teach patterning, number recognition, fractions, time, coins etc. Participants will explore the use of apps to enhance the writing process by providing text as one speaks. We will look at Dragon Dictate and Paperport to learn how to use those apps for the purpose of written language support.
